Nuwara Eliya, perched high in the temperate mountain zone of Sri Lanka, has the perfect terrain and year-round cool weather for strawberry cultivation. As a result, many strawberry farms have been established in the region over the past few years, turning vast areas into a sea of juicy red berries during harvesting season.

Several farms mean several options for you to enjoy some fresh strawberries, as well as delicious strawberry infused desserts! Farms such as Jagro, Admo Agro Farms, and the Ambewela Farms allow farm visits. If the terrain is rough, you can opt to be driven around in a small tractor. It’s best to check with your tour guide, or even at the farm office.

Some of the farms also run cafes and outlets where you can purchase freshly picked berries, jams, dessert toppings or just indulge in some good old-fashioned strawberries and cream.
